Med Facebook kan du dela Waldenström’s macroglobulinaemia (WM) is a slow-growing type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is also called lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. WM is a cancer of a type of white blood cell called lymphoplasmacytic cells (LPL cells).

This condition used to be called Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, so some people refer to it as Waldenstrom’s. Waldenström's macroglobulinemia is a type of cancer affecting two types of B cells: lymphoplasmacytoid cells and plasma cells. Both cell types are white blood cells. WM is characterized by having high levels of a circulating antibody, immunoglobulin M, which is made and secreted by the cells involved in the disease. WM is an "indolent lymphoma" and a type of lymphoproliferative disease which shares clinical characteristics with the indolent non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
